How to set your date format and timezone
Scanfully shows dates in the format you choose, and converts every time to your timezone. This helps when you work with clients in other regions, or when your team is spread over several timezones.
Set them
Section titled “Set them”- Click your name at the bottom of the menu and choose Account. Settings opens.
- Under Preferences, choose a Date format: DD.MM.YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, DD/MM/YYYY, or Custom to type your own pattern (for example
YYYY/MM/DD). - Under Timezone, search for your timezone and select it.
- Check Preview: it shows the current date, and date and time, as Scanfully will show them.
- Click Save changes.
See Account settings for everything else on the page.
Where they apply
Section titled “Where they apply”- The dashboard: dates and times across the dashboard.
- Email notifications: dates and times use your format and timezone, with the timezone name after them, for example
16.03.2026 14:30:45 (Europe/Amsterdam). - Daily digest and quiet hours: their times follow your timezone.
Why does Scanfully ask for a timezone?
Section titled “Why does Scanfully ask for a timezone?”Scanfully stores every time in UTC. Your timezone lets it show those times as your own clock reads them. A new account starts on UTC; until you change it, the daily digest and quiet hours settings suggest the timezone of your browser.
Which tokens can I use in a custom format?
Section titled “Which tokens can I use in a custom format?”Use YYYY for the year, MM for the month and DD for the day, and HH, mm and ss for hours, minutes and seconds. Scanfully refuses a pattern without any of these tokens. These work too, in the dashboard and in emails alike:
| Token | Shows | Example |
|---|---|---|
YY |
Two-digit year | 26 |
M, D |
Month and day without a leading zero | 3, 7 |
MMM, MMMM |
Short and full month name | Oct, October |
ddd, dddd |
Short and full weekday name | Mon, Monday |
H, h, hh |
Hour without a leading zero, 12-hour clock | 9, 3, 03 |
A, a |
AM or PM | PM, pm |
Put text you want to show as is between square brackets, for example [week of] D MMM for “week of 12 Oct”.
