How to filter the WordPress activity log by date range
The activity log of a site can show the events of one period only. This helps when you are troubleshooting a problem, checking what changed during a certain window, or reviewing recent activity on a site. You can pick a preset period or choose your own start and end date.
Choose a period
Section titled “Choose a period”- Open the site and choose Activity in the site menu.
- Open the period menu at the top of the list. It shows This month when the screen opens.
- Choose All time, Today, This week, Last week, This month or Last month.
The list, the counts on the tabs and the line under the title update straight away, for example “9 events last week”.
Choose a custom date range
Section titled “Choose a custom date range”- In the period menu, choose Custom. Two date fields appear next to it.
- Pick or type the start date in the first field and the end date in the second, as dd-mm-yyyy.

The list updates once both dates are set. A custom range can be at most 6 months long, and the end date can’t be before the start date; the screen tells you when a range doesn’t fit. Dates in the future can’t be picked.
The period works together with the other filters: the event type tabs (Everything, Updates, Content, Settings changes) and the user filter. See Activity for the whole screen.
Through the API
Section titled “Through the API”The Scanfully API can return a site’s activity within a time range too, so integrations and custom reports can query the events of a defined period.
